About Us
AST is Europe's leading high volume, high technology, zinc alloy electroplating specialist. It operates at the forefront of technology, with a continuing investment in the latest processes.
Advanced Surface was established in 1989 primarily to provide a specialised electroplating service to the automotive industry, but now it also serves a number of other key industries, such as aerospace. From its inception, quality and reliability have always been considered to be of paramount importance and are firmly rooted in the company's philosophy.
Today, AST has grown to become the UK and Europe's leading specialist in Zinc Alloy electro plated finishes. They operate the largest rack plating line for Zinc Nickel (both high and low Nickel content) and the only fully computer controlled automatic Tin-Zinc alloy plating line in Europe, capable of operating 24 hours a day.
The ASTEC range of high corrosion resistant finishes is meeting the needs of the car industry to supply longer warranties. These finishes are now finding wide ranging applications both inside and outside the automotive and aerospace industries. The development of the neutral ASTEC 2000 Tin-Zinc alloy also offers customers the benefits of solderability after bending and crimping. When used on fasteners (screws, nuts, etc.) it has the additional benefit of providing earthing characteristics.
AST has developed a range of Zinc Alloy finishes that are specified by all of the leading automobile manufacturers across Europe and the UK. Branded under the ASTEC name, they have been developed to provide high quality finishes to meet the exacting demands of the automotive industry, both now and into the future.
The ASTEC brand was Europe's first and continues to be its leading, Zinc Alloy brand offered in the market. With Chrome 6 Free passivation available right across the ASTEC range, AST is able to help its customers to achieve compliance with the EU's End of Vehicle Life Directive.
