Our Engineering specialism
We can offer customers a full technical consultation service, working together to solve your surface engineering problems.
We apply engineered coating solutions for use in many engineering applications- for extreme wear resistance, good surface release, managing friction and temperature and corrosion protection. We have production facilities that can deliver fast turnaround times. Whether it is a high volume run or a one- off on a large complex job, we have the expertise and facilities to deliver best service to you.
We enable production lines to operate more efficiently by assisting surface release and preventing adhesion. Friction without sticking helps many production lines. Fresh dough used in bakeries is a stubborn material and our surface coatings using different friction and release properties are proven to play an essential role on conical moulders for use in bakeries. In the Food industry our new Armourcote '1530' prevents sticky particles gluing themselves to the tin, off-setting the traditional bakers use of copious oil lubrications and silicon paper liners.
In Manufacturing environments our solutions are used to manage adhesion issues during drying processes. For example in paper manufacture our surface coating is used to prevent the adhesion of fine quality papers during the drying process.
Our track record
We have a proven track record across the Norman Hay group of companies to respond to routine requirements and one-off requests.
With a range of state of the art proprietary products and innovative processes our surface finishing solutions are used by some of the most prestigious names in the engineering industry.
For example, major process valves must be able to withstand long periods without attention or servicing and often in hostile surroundings such as off-shore oil platforms. For anti-corrosion and environmental protection, Armourcote apply multiple coat formulations to the outer surface. For long-life friction resistance, the inner ball assembly uses electroless nickel, which is then hardened by heat treatment.
We have a solid track record of achieving uniformity and controlled thickness of electroless nickel, which is highly valued by customers.Ever more demanding quality requirements are demanded to reduce cost, improve performance and extend component life cycles.
We live in a world where the engineering industry continues to demand more and more from its components. Components need to work harder, deliver better results and perform better over their more closely monitored lifecycles. At the same time many industries are driven to operate in more hostile parts of the globe to extract their raw materials where machine and equipment reliability have major implications.
