In general our products can support three methods of tunnelling. These are Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), Drill and Blast, and Mechanical Excavation (Road Header) also known as NATM tunnelling.

TAM pre-injection grouting is associated with all tunnelling methodologies, as a means to prevent water ingress, consolidate weak and fractured rock, and soil geologies, thus reducing the risks of unexpected flooding and tunnel collapses.

TAM Tunnelling and Mining have developed a range of injection technologies to suit all rock and soil types, including Microfine Cement, Acrylic Gels, Acrylic Grouts, and Polyurethanes.

There have also been major advancements in sprayed concrete technologies that form part of the temporary and permanent support methods, especially in Drill and Blast and Road Header tunnels. We have developed state-of-the-art High Performance Water Reducing Admixture Technology, Hydration Control Admixtures, Hyper Plasticisers and High Performance Alkali Free Set Accelerators, which give our customers superior workability and increase working time (Slump Retention), combined with ultra-high early and ultimate strength development.
